Man Found Shot Dead Near Garfield Park Conservatory Identified

CHICAGO — A man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds early Saturday in Garfield Park, police say.

At 2 a.m. Saturday, police found a 27-year-old man in a car that had crashed into a tree near the Garfield Park Conservatory in the 300 block of North Central Park Avenue in East Garfield Park, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The man had gunshot wounds to his chest, back and arm and was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Estrada said.

Casanova West, of the 200 block of North Central, was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m., according to morgue records.
