BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Pasty Co.'s restaurant has temporarily closed.

In a Facebook post, owners Carrie Clark and Jay Sebastian wrote, "Restaurant closed during Morgan Street construction."

For the last several weeks, construction crews have been tearing up Morgan from 31st to 35th streets.

Clark and Sebastian posted a photo of the roadwork on Facebook, showing a towering, yellow excavator parked next to a portable toilet in front of their restaurant.

The pasty-making duo was not immediately available Wednesday to comment on when the restaurant will open again.

Opened in the neighborhood in 2013, Bridgeport Pasty Co. also operates an electric-powered food truck, which serves numerous versions of the pasty — those flaky handheld pastries traditionally filled with meat and vegetables — at festivals, parks and university campuses.
