CHICAGO — A 27-year old man was found dead inside his car in Austin late Wednesday, police said.
Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call of a man shot near 1146 N. Central Ave.
At the scene, police found the man had been shot in his head as he sat in the driver's seat of his car, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man’s car had crashed into another vehicle before coming to a stop on North Central Avenue, police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Pierre Reese of the 5100 block of North Latrobe Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one is in custody, and a source said the man was a documented gang member.
