AUBURN GRESHAM — Morgue officials have identified the 21-year-old man found with a gunshot wound in his chest Wednesday morning, officials said.

Around 6 a.m., police responded to a call of a person shot in the 7500 block of South Damen Avenue, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Upon arrival they found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound in his chest, slumped in the driver's seat of a sedan on the side of the road, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to Christ Memorial Hospital in Oak Lawn, Pacheco said

Adarius Hayes, of the 8100 block of South Damen Avenue, was pronounced dead at 6:55 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
