MAGNIFICENT MILE — Chico's Boutique is selling a new scarf, with some proceeds being contributed to cancer research.

The women's retailer will treat a few local cancer survivors to makeovers Thursday morning at its Shops at North Bridge store, 520 N. Michigan Ave., before exclusively selling a new Sheila Johnson scarf debuting at its Water Tower Place store, 835 N. Michigan Ave.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, $10 from each sale of the Cerulean Sky Sheila Johnson scarf will go towards Stand Up To Cancer. The benefit will last till Oct. 31 or until $100,000 is raised across the chain.

"The day of luxury and pampering, which will celebrate health, confidence and the extraordinary power of women supporting women, kicks off a partnership between Chico’s and SU2C to raise awareness and funds to continue to pursue the latest advancements in cancer treatment," Stand Up To Cancer spokesman Adam Miller said in a statement.
