BELMONT-CRAGIN — A 7-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man are in fair condition after being shot in Belmont-Cragin Sunday evening, police said.

Around 8:45 p.m., the two were sitting inside a car in the 2500 block of North Parkside Avenue in when a gray car pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 19-year-old drove them to Community First Hospital, Sedevic said, where the boy was treated for a gunshot wound in his shoulder and the man was treated for a graze wound in his head.

Police said they believe the shooting to be gang-related.
