Police Warn of Robberies in South Loop, Bridgeport

SOUTH LOOP — Police warned residents Tuesday of a series of robberies that have occurred across the Near South Side during the past few weeks.

In a community alert, police pointed to four robberies they believe were committed by the same two men, who they say walked up to people and demanded their belongings.

Police describe the suspects as black men in their 20s with brown eyes and black hair, between 5-feet-9 and 6-feet-2, and weighing between 160 and 200 pounds.

Police say the robbers struck at the following addresses and times:

• 2100 block of South Wentworth Avenue on July 11 at 5 a.m.

• 200 block of West 31st Street on July 13 at 11 p.m.

• 2800 block of South Wentworth Avenue on July 22 at 5 a.m.

• 2400 block of South Wentworth Avenue on July 26 at 8:05 p.m.
