WEST LOOP — Drivers and CTA commuters alike can blame Construction on the Jane Byrne Interchange for new delays around Halsted and Harrison Streets, the Illinois Department of Transportaion said.

The congestion, they said, will last through Aug. 5.

Harrison Street will be closed in both directions between Morgan and Halsted, a press release said, and CTA and University of Illinois at Chicago buses will be rerouted to follow.

The Halsted Street bridge and CTA station re-opened Monday following weekend construction, but the west side of Halsted will remain closed, the release said. Temporary two-way traffic lanes are set up on the east side of the street.
