Farm Aid in Chicago Features Imagine Dragons, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews

DOWNTOWN - Farm Aid, celebrating its 30th anniversary, will be held at Northerly Island on Sept. 19th.

The concert, which raises money for farmers, will include Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews as well as Imagine Dragons and Jack Johnson among others. See here for a full lineup.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 3 through livenation.com and cost $49.50 to $189.50. For a premium, fans can buy tickets early on July 29 through a pre-sale offering.

The Chicago concert will mark the anniversary of the first Farm Aid, held at the University of Illinois on September 22, 1985. "At Farm Aid 30 we'll celebrate the impact we've had and rally our supporters for the work ahead," Nelson said in a statement.

The series has raised nearly $50 million for farmers.

Farm Aid has partnered with Hotels for Hope to offer discounted lodging in Chicago. Each room booked through Hotels for Hope (www.farmaid.org/hotels) results in a donation to Farm Aid.

Local participants include the urban gardening organization Growing Power,the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences and Windy City Youth Farm as well as Illinois farmers.
