PORTAGE PARK — Four Portage Park businesses on the same block have been burglarized in recent weeks, police warned.

Police said the burglars force their way into into one business and then break through the wall of an adjoining business to get inside and take items, according to an alert issued by police.

Two businesses in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue were broken into at 2:05 a.m. July 2. Another two businesses in the same block were broken into at 4:50 a.m. June 26, police said.

Another three businesses in the 1800 block of North Harlem Avenue in Galewood were broken into between 3 and 3:30 p.m. May 23, police said.

Based on the similarities between the crimes, they may all be connected, police said.

Anyone with information about the crimes can call detectives at 312-747-8263.
