NORTH CENTER — Police issued a community alert Tuesday warning North Center residents of a series of burglaries occurring throughout the neighborhood during the past few weeks.

According to police, the suspected burglar or burglars robbed houses, specifically stealing bicycles, on the following blocks:

• The 2400 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, on July 5

• The 4100 block of North Lincoln Avenue, between July 13-14

• The 4300 block of North Seeley Avenue, just after 2 a.m. on July 14

• The 2000 block of West Cullom Avenue, just after 2 a.m. on July 14

Police describe the suspect from the burglary on Lincoln as a white man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 150-165 pounds.

Suspects for the burglary on Seeley, police said, were described as two slim men wearing dark clothing. One was a white man with a "shaggy hairstyle," and the other had "very short hair," according to the alert.

Anyone with information on the burglaries, or the suspect, is encouraged to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
