One Killed, Seven Hurt in Shootings since Saturday Afternoon

CHICAGO — One man died and seven were hurt in shootings since Saturday afternoon, police said.

A 22-year-old man, reported to be Chicago rapper Capo, a part of Chief Keef's Glo Gang crew, was shot to death in South Shore early Saturday afternoon. Shortly after, a one-year-old baby was run over and killed by a car police believe contained the shooters.

Most recently, at 6:40 am. Sunday morning, a 24-year-old man was shot in both his legs on the 2400 block of South Wood Street in Back of the Yards, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he's now in good condition, Pacheco said.

Around 2:00 a.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in his right arm while walking in Oakland, Pacheco said.

The man was walking on on the 700 block of East 37th Street when he said he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. The man was brought to Mercy Hospital, where he's now in stable condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, and police are investigating. Police said the victim is a documented gang member.

At about 12:40 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in his side in Auburn Gresham, Pacheco said.

The man was walking on the 7600 block of South Green Street, Pacheco said, when a silver car approached and someone inside fired shots. The man was taken to Christ Memorial Hospital, where he's now in stable condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, and police are investigating.

Around 9:40 p.m. Saturday night, a 23-year-old man was shot in his calf outside his home in Park Manor, Pacheco said.

The man was sitting on his porch on the 7300 block of South Champlain Avenue when he said he heard gunshots and felt pain, Pacheco said. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where he's now in good condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, and police are investigating.

Twenty-five minutes earlier, Pacheco said, two men were shot in Chatham. The men were sitting on a porch on the 700 block of East 92nd Place when someone emerged from a gangway and fired shots, Pacheco said.

One of the men, a 35-year-old, was taken to Trinity Hospital after he was shot in his ankle, Pacheco said. The other, 23, was taken to Christ Memorial Hospital after he was shot in his forearm. Both men were treated and released, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, and police are investigating.

At about 5:06 p.m. Saturday, a 12-year-old boy was shot in both his legs in South Chicago, Pacheco said.

The boy was walking on the sidewalk on the 8700 block of South Saginaw Avenue, Pacheco said, when he said he heard gunshots and felt pain. He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he's in serious but stable condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, and police are investigating. Police said the victim is a documented gang member.
