CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man is dead and two other men are hurt after a shooting in South Austin early Saturday morning, said Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The three were standing outside and involved in argument in the 200 block of South Laramie Avenue, Pacheco said, when someone pulled out a gun at 3:15 a.m.

Eric Loyd, 26, was shot in his head, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene at 3:30 a.m., officials said. He lived on the 1400 South Avers Avenue in North Lawndale.

Two other men, a 27-year-old and a 24-year-old, were both brought to Mount Sinai Hospital with serious injuries, Pacheco said. The 27-year-old is in critical condition after being shot in both legs and the 24-year-old is in stable condition after being shot in his leg, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Police said all three victims were documented gang members.
