CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was shot in Portage Park Thursday afternoon, police said.
Around 3:43 p.m., the man was in the 5000 block of West Irving Park Road when a woman walked into a store and began robbing it. Before leaving, she opened fire, striking the man in his ankle, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man was taken to Community First Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.
