CHICAGO — A 52-year-old man was shot early Monday morning in Grand Crossing, police said.

Around 12:30 a.m., the man was walking on the sidewalk in the 400 block of East 76th Street when someone opened fire, striking him in the left side of his body, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
