CHICAGO — Four people were wounded in shootings hours apart in Chatham on Sunday, police said.

About 8 p.m., two people were shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 8000 block of South Stewart Avenue when two men walked up to them and opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 48-year-old woman was shot in each of her legs and a 33-year-old man was shot in his right ankle. They were both taken to Christ Hospital, where their conditions stabilized, Estrada said.

Around 1:23 p.m., two men were shot in the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue. A 34-year-old man was shot in his forearm and taken to Christ, where his condition stabilized. A 30-year-old man was shot in his stomach. He was also taken to Christ, but in critical condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
