CHICAGO — A 24-year-old was seriously wounded after being shot in West Town early Sunday, police said.

Around 12:15 a.m., a 24-year-old man was walking in the 1100 block of West Chicago Avenue, near the Chicago Blue Line station, when he was approached by a man who opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was shot in his chest and arm and taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.
