Four Killed, Seven Wounded in Shootings Since Thursday Morning

CHICAGO — Shootings across the city have left four people dead and seven people wounded since Thursday morning, police said.

On one Back of the Yards block alone, a 26-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old man was wounded in separate shootings about nine hours apart, police said.

Around 6:25 p.m. Thursday, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot while riding his bike in Little Village. Around 11:10 a.m. Thursday, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in a car in Riverdale.

Most recently, one person was killed and another was wounded in Washington Heights a few minutes after 1 a.m. Friday, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

In the most recent non-fatal shooting, a 25-year-old man was shot in his left foot as he walked in the 2100 block of West Randolph Street on the Near West Side around 12:25 a.m. Friday. He was taken to Christ Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

Around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, a 19-year-old man was shot while standing in the 11800 block of South State Street in West Pullman when a man rode up on a bike and opened fire. The man was struck in his buttocks and taken to Roseland Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Estrada said.

Around 3:05 p.m. Thursday, a 26-year-old man was shot in his right thigh while sitting next to his garage in the 10100 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Roseland when a man approached from the alley and opened fire. He was taken to Christ Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Estrada said.

Two teens were in custody after shooting a 17-year-old boy in Woodlawn. A 22-year-old man was also shot in Englewood Thursday.
