ANDERSONVILLE — Calling all fans of irreverent comedy: You're going to want to stick around Andersonville this month. Some might say the decision is as Ann as the nose on plain's face.

"Arrested Development" jokes aside, you might run into Mae Whitman, who has played everyone from Ann in cult-favorite "Arrested Development" to Amber Holt in "Parenthood."

That's because Whitman, along with Retta, known for role as Donna on the NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation," and Martin Starr, who plays Gilfoyle in the HBO comedy "Silicon Valley," are all starring in an independent film called "Operator," which is filming mostly in Andersonville through July 24.

In the film, Starr develops voices used in customer service centers. His wife, Whitman, lends her voice to the process, and in turn, Starr finds out that her "digital doppelganger" is appealing, according to the Tribune, which was first to report the news.

Director Logan Kibens told the Tribune that she chose Chicago as a setting because it's "still the emotional home for many of our stories."

"We've also tried to utilize some of the unique and incredible things about the city that just can't be replicated anywhere else — the beautiful Chicago lakefront, the architecture and landscape, and of course the Neo-Futurists theater, which is a thing in and of itself," she told the Tribune reporter.

Though Kibens currently lives in Los Angeles, she is a former Chicagoan. The same goes for Cameron Esposito, a comedian who will also appear in the movie.

According to Rich Moskal with the Chicago Film Office, so far the film crew has requested permits for the following dates and locations:

July 3: 1400 W. Winnemac St.

June 28 - July 3: 1500 W. Hollywood Ave.

June 29 - July 6: 400 W. Ardmore Ave.

Moskal said the production team hasn't requested permits for any more locations just yet.

Now that you know where they'll be for the time being, make sure you tweet us @DNAinfoCHI if you end up taking selfies with the actors.
