UPTOWN — A teenage boy is in custody after shooting at a police officer Sunday afternoon, police said.

Around 2:50 p.m., Chicago police officers responded to calls of a "gang-related disturbance" in the 4600 block of North Kenmore Avenue, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

When officers arrived, a 16-year-old boy started running away, and they chased him, police said.

During the chase, the boy allegedly fired a shot at one of the officers.

The teen was arrested, and his weapon was recovered, according to Pacheco. No one was injured.

Charges are pending against the teen, police said.

The incident occurred just blocks from where North Side rapper Young Pappy was gunned down in late May.
