CHICAGO — One person was killed and six others were wounded in shootings since Wednesday afternoon, police said.

In North Lawndale, minutes after midnight, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in the back seat of a car.

Several hours earlier, four men were shot across the city in the span of an hour Wednesday afternoon.

In the most recent nonfatal shooting, a teenager was in good condition after being shot in Roseland.

Around 1:10 a.m., a 17-year-old was in a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 200 block of West 111th Place, when shots were fired from a parked tan SUV, said Officer Anna Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The teenager suffered a graze wound in the back of his head and drove himself to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Pacheco said.

Around 10:35 p.m.,  a 20-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4600 block of West Washington Street in Austin, when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

He was shot in the buttocks and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
