A West Loop loft with two bedrooms, two baths and lots of open space is listed for sale for $410,000.

The loft is in the high-rise at 728 W. Jackson Boulevard. Lorraine Denham, the listing agent with Coldwell Banker, says the open-air, cement-converted loft has the building’s original columns intact, 12-foot ceilings and lots of open space for easy entertaining.

Dramatic windows allow lots of sunlight in to fill up the open floor plan in the unit, #612.

The loft's kitchen was updated with new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a spacious island. There's also new track lighting/dimmers, new Closet Works built-ins in all closets, a new air exchanger and a new furnace. In addition, the cement loft creates a very quiet area, unlike timber lofts where homeowners can hear footsteps above them.

"My seller is an artist, and the layout appealed to him because there was a gracious amount of displayable wall space,” Denham said. “In decorating this condo, he went with an 'urban elegance.' He placed refined, modern furnishings and sleek art/sculptures against the rough, original (highly imperfect) wood floors and chunky cement columns. It was a bold choice."

Bold art pieces stand out with the all-white palate elsewhere. The walls, 42-foot cabinetry and lighting fixtures are all white.

The seller "installed elaborate lighting — all low-voltage fixtures on tracks with dimmers — which made his paintings 'pop'. It is an expensive upgrade, and one you don't see very often," Denham said.

The building amenities include a 24-hour doorman, a basketball court, two rooftop decks with a city/Willis Tower view, a fitness room, bike room, heated garage and party room. Located across the street from Greektown and down the street from Mariano’s, Whole Foods and other shops, this unit has the additional luxury of all of the West Loop’s amenities, too.
