UPTOWN — The CTA wants to completely rebuild a stretch of the Red Line, which means, beginning in 2016, four North Side stations will be closed for a while — including the Lawrence stop for up to 3½ years.

Nonprofit and social services center, ICA Greenrise, is inviting residents to weigh in at a community event Tuesday at 4750 N. Sheridan Road beginning at 5 p.m.

"This plan appears to be an unusually harsh measure so we're looking to engage the community in dialog around questions of: Why is this necessary? What are alternative transit options?" the news release reads.

A CTA representative will be there to answer questions.

To RSVP, fill out an online form or call Caitlin at 773-769-6363, ext. 316.
