'The Sandlot' Up to Bat During Movies in the Parks

GLADSTONE PARK — Don't be an L7 weenie: Go see "The Sandlot" during the Chicago Park District's Movies in the Parks series.

The tale of a group of baseball-loving boys and their hijinks during one memorable summer will be shown under the stars twice on the Far Northwest Side in July as part of the summer movie series.

Moviegoers can bring a blanket and a picnic basket to watch current and classic flicks for free during the series.

The schedule for July is:

• "The Sandlot," at 8:30 p.m. July 1 at Gladstone Park, 5421 N. Menard Ave.

• "Dolphin Tale 2" at 8:30 p.m. July 8 at Oriole Park, 5430 N. Olcott Ave.

• "Annie" at 8:30 p.m. July 8 at Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave.

• "The Curse of the Tempest Jewel" 8:30 p.m. July 12 at Norwood Park, 5801 N. Natoma Ave.

• "The Sandlot," at 8:30 p.m. July 17 at Sauganash Park, 5861 N. Kostner Ave.

• "The Goonies" at 8:30 p.m. July 19 at Hiawatha Park, 8029 W. Forest Preserve Drive.

• "Big Hero 6" at 8:30 p.m. July 29 at Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave.
