CHICAGO — One man is dead, and three other people were wounded in shootings in the South Side Saturday afternoon.

In South Chicago, a man was fatally shot and a woman was critically wounded around noon.

Most recently in Bronzeville, a 34-year-old man was in the 5000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when he was shot in his leg around 3 p.m., said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in fair condition, Zala said.

In West Englewood around 2 p.m., a 27-year-old man was standing in the street of the 6500 block of South Justine Street when a man walked from a vacant lot and fired shots, striking the man in his back and left leg, Zala said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, Zala said.
