CHICAGO — Three people have been killed, and at least 17 others wounded in shootings on the South Side since Thursday afternoon, police said.

In Chatham, one man was killed and another was wounded after being shot in a basement apartment. In Woodlawn, a 43-year-old man died after he was shot multiple times.

In another Chatham shooting Thursday afternoon, one man was shot and killed, and two others were wounded, one critically.

Most recently, two teenagers were hurt in an Auburn Gresham shooting early Friday.

Around 12:30 a.m., two 16-year-old boys were sitting on a porch in the 7600 block of South Sangamon Street when a man walked up and opened fire, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

One boy was shot in his buttocks, and the other was shot in his leg and ankle. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition, Sedevic said.

• Around 11:40 p.m., a 27-year-old man walked into St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest, Sedevic said.

The man had been standing on a porch in the 700 block of West 59th Street in Englewood when a gunman walked up and fired shots, police said. The 27-year-old was driven to a hospital by a friend and listed in fair condition, Sedevic said.

• About 10 minutes earlier, a 23-year-old man was a passenger of a vehicle in the 8300 block of South Phillips Avenue in South Chicago, when shots rang out at 11:30 p.m., Sedevic said.

The man was shot in his leg and driven by a friend to Advocate Trinity Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.

• In Englewood around 11 p.m., a 42-year-old man was shot in his abdomen and leg during an argument with an acquaintance in the 6100 block of South Green Street, Sedevic said.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.

• In West Englewood, a man and two women were standing on the sidewalk in the 6900 block of South Throop Street when three men walked up and fired shots around 9:10 p.m., Sedevic said.

A 25-year-old man was shot in his buttocks, and a 33-year-old woman was shot in her leg. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and listed in fair condition, Sedevic said.

A 40-year-old woman suffered a graze wound on her back and refused medical attention.

• In West Englewood less than an hour earlier, a 24-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle in the 5900 block of South Loomis Boulevard when a blue minivan pulled up and two men got out and fired shots before driving away at 8:30 p.m., Sedevic said.

The man was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Sedevic said.

• Around 7:45 p.m. in Englewood, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were standing outside in the 7400 block of South May Street when someone in a dark vehicle fired shots before driving off, Sedevic said.

The man was shot in wrist and stomach and taken to Advocate Christ Medical in critical condition. The boy was shot in has back and also taken to Advocate Christ and listed in fair condition, Sedevic said.

• In Englewood, several hours earlier, a 19-year-old man was walking in the 7300 block of South Loomis Boulevard when a man emerged from an alley and fired shots around 5:10 p.m., Sedevic said.

The 19-year-old was shot in his left arm and left ankle and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition, Sedevic said.

• In Douglas at 5 p.m., two men, 20 and 21, were were wounded in a possible drive-by shooting in the 2700 block of South State Street, Sedevic said.

Both men were shot in their right legs and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where they were listed in fair condition, Sedevic said.
