FULTON MARKET — Fulton Market is getting a second farmers market this week.

Green City Market will launch a new monthly market Sunday at Soho House, 113-125 N. Green St. The farmers market, located in a lot behind Soho House between Halsted and Green streets, will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Sunday of the month through Oct. 11.

Sarah Stegner, co-president of the Green City Market board and chef/owner of Prairie Grass Cafe, said the new market gave farmers and vendors another opportunity to personally connect with Fulton Market's residents, chefs and restaurateurs.

"Soho House Chicago has been an exemplary member of the community since its opening and we are delighted to have this partnership," Stegner said.

Sourcing fresh, locally grown ingredients is a fundamental part of Soho House Chicago's restaurants, said general manager Thomas Lennard.

"To be able to support the local farmers, many from whom we source ourselves, is an exciting opportunity," Lennard said. "Food is about bringing people together, and we look forward to offering a space where the neighborhood and food community can connect."

Green City Market also operates weekly markets at Fulton and Halsted streets in Fulton Market on Saturdays and on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Lincoln Park.
