CHICAGO — Two men were shot and killed minutes apart in Austin Sunday night, police said.

Around 7:10 p.m., police found a 53-year-old man unresponsive in the street in the 4900 block of West Lake Street after hearing gunshots in the area, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead, Cooper said.

He was later identified as Donald Hall, of the 4800 block of West Race Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

About three minutes after that shooting, a 27-year-old man was shot while walking on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Cicero Avenue in Austin after being approached by several men, Cooper said.

After being shot in his right thigh he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Cooper said.

Byron Driver, 27, of the 2900 block of North Polk, was pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody for either shooting, Cooper said.
