Women Punched, Kicked While Being Robbed Downtown, Police Say

THE LOOP — Women have been punched and kicked during two May robberies downtown, police say.

In one incident, a man punched a woman and knocked her to the ground, and then he stole her wallet from her pants pocket while hitting her, police said.

In a second incident, a man stole from a store. He grabbed a woman's purse while running away. The woman tried to get the purse back but the man kicked her and ran away to a gold-colored Toyota driven by another man.

The thief is described as a 25- to 30-year-old white man who is 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-9 and 130-160 pounds with brown eyes and short brown hair.

The robberies occurred:

• 6:46-7 p.m. May 4 in the 400 block of West Madison Street

• 7 p.m. May 21 in the 600 block of West Jackson Boulevard
