CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was shot just after midnight Tuesday in South Shore.

Around 12:33 a.m., the man was standing in the street in the 1400 block of East 66th Place when someone opened fire from a light-colored SUV, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The man was struck in the buttocks and leg. He was taken to University of Chicago Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Cooper said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
