CHICAGO — Two people are being questioned after a woman was found dead in a basement in Archer Heights, police said.

Around 8:10 p.m., a 54-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the basement of a home in the 4800 block of South Karlov Avenue with "blunt trauma" to her head, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The homicide appears to be domestic related, Cooper said.

Cooper said a traffic crash involving a vehicle striking a garage is also part of the ongoing investigation into the woman's death.

Maria Saldeski, of the 4800 block of South Karlov Avenue, was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No further details were available.
