PORTAGE PARK — The work of a Dunning painter will fill the walls of the Perkolator Cafe through June 30.

The exhibit organized by Northwest Arts Connection will feature 22 paintings from Dunning artist Sara Peak Convery, organizers said.

The showing is the fifth in an ongoing series of events at Perkolator promoting the work of artists who live in the area, organizers said.

Peak Convery will discuss her work from 2:30-4 p.m. June 6 at Perkolator, 6032 W. Irving Park Road, organizers said.

Peak Convery's paintings focus on private moments, and their composition is influenced by her background as a photographer and a film producer, organizers said.

Peak Convery's 2013 documentary "I Never Said I Wasn't Happy" won best documentary at the Black Earth Film Festival and best concept in documentary at Red Dirt International Film Festival.
