MOUNT GREENWOOD — A string of car burglaries in Mount Greenwood prompted a police warning.

Nine vehicles were ransacked between 3-5:30 a.m. Monday in the 10500-10900 blocks between of south Pulaski Road and Central Park Avenue, police said.

People were in the area checking door handles, the police warning said.

"When the offender finds an unlocked vehicle, they enter the car, taking property from within," the warning from the Morgan Park Police District said.

All of the cars that were burglarized were unlocked, according to police.

The warning recommends that residents keep their cars locked at all times, keep valuables out of sight, park in a secure area and call 911 if any suspicious people are spotted.
