SOUTH LOOP — With The Who returning to the Chicago area for shows next week in Rosemont, in part to mark the group's 50th anniversary, Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation is getting on the bandwagon with an exhibit of classic Who concert photos opening this weekend.

"Bloody Young and Backdated: A Who Photo Retrospective" gathers more than 60 shots of The Who as taken by 11 rock photographers at venues including the Kinetic Playground, the Auditorium Theater, the Chicago Stadium and the International Amphitheatre.

The photos feature guitarist Pete Townsend and lead singer Roger Daltrey, as well as now-dead band members drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle, and their later replacements.

The photographers, including Terry Abrahamson, Perry Bax, Jeff Elbel, Yale Factor, Peter Katsis, Stacey Katsis, Kent Kriegshauser, John Nunu Zomot, Phillip Solomonson, Kesh Sorensen and Joe Svec, will be in attendance at the exhibit's opening from noon-3 p.m. May 9 at the foundation, 2120 S. Michigan Ave., the former home of Chess Records, as memorialized in a song by the Rolling Stones.

The exhibit will be on display through June 15. Admission is $10, and proceeds benefit the foundation. Hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, noon-3 p.m. Saturdays, closed on Sundays.

The Who plays May 13 at the Allstate Arena, followed by a charity performance the next night at the Rosemont Theater featuring Townsend with Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder.
