CHICAGO — Three people were injured in separate shooting since Thursday afternoon on the South and West sides, police said.

Most recently in Douglas, a 20 year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were walking outside in the 3700 block of South Vincennes Avenue at 2:05 a.m., when they were approached by two armed men who demanded their property, said Officer Stacey Cooper a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman had her wallet and iPhone taken. The 40-year-old man refused to comply with the men and was shot in his leg and groin. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

In Austin at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, a 17-year-old girl was shot in her left shoulder in the 500 block of North Lockwood Avenue and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Cooper said.

Around 2:23 p.m., an 18-year-old man walked into St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound in his right leg, Cooper said.

According to police, the shooting occurred in the 300 block of West 57th Street, and the gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted. The man was uncooperative with investigators, police said.
