CHICAGO — Illinois Tollway crews will begin work to widen and rebuild the Jane Addams Expy. this week by beginning construction on three ramps connecting the Jane Addams, the Tri-State Tollway and O'Hare International Airport.

Work will begin around 9 p.m. Wednesday with traffic shifting to the left on the ramp connecting the eastbound Jane Addams to the Tri-State. After midnight, a second lane will also be closed to completely strip the pavement from the ramp.

Shifts in traffic should be completed ahead of the morning commute Thursday. All ramps will remain open during reconstruction due to the traffic shifts, which will be posted in advance on road signs.

The reconstruction is part of a $2.5 billion project to rebuild and widen the Jane Addams.
