Two Shot on South Side Thursday Afternoon, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two people were shot on the South Side Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Around 1:45 p.m., a 20-year-old was shot multiple times in his back after a man exited a car and opened fire in the 8000 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Auburn Gresham, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Lemmon said.

Around noon, an 18-year-old man was shot in his left leg in the 10300 block of South Prairie Avenue in Roseland. He was taken to Christ in good condition, Lemmon said.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
