Teen Boy Shot, Injured in Austin

CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after a shooting in Austin Tuesday night.

Around 8 p.m., the boy was shot by someone in a black car while walking in the 0-100 block of North Pine Avenue in Austin, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The boy was struck in his back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Gaines said.

No one is in custody for that shooting.
