Man Killed in Washington Park Monday Identified, Officials Say

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Monday in Washing Park, police said.

Around 2:45 p.m., the man was shot in the back in the 6000 block of South King Drive, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead, Greer said.

The victim, identified as Marshawn Fleming Jr., 18, of the 6800 block of South Wabash Avenue, was pronounced at 3:54 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

No other information was available.
