CHICAGO — Three people were wounded, including a 13-year-old boy, in shootings since Wednesday night, police said.

Around 10 p.m. in West Englewood, the boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 5700 block of South Bishop Street, when two men walked up and fired shots, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was shot in the upper left leg and taken to Comer Children's Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

In the most recent shooting, a woman was wounded while driving in Back of the Yards early Thursday.

Around 1:40 a.m., a 30-year-old woman was driving in the 5400 block of South May Street when she heard shots and felt pain, Cooper said.

The woman suffered a grave wound to the back of her head and drove herself to John H. Stroger Hospital where her condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

In Austin, around 12:18 a.m., a 52-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4700 block of West Maypole Avenue when he was approached by two men who attempted to rob him, Cooper said.

The man was shot in the abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.
