HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club is bringing back its annual pancake breakfast on April 26.
After a three-year break, the pancake breakfast will resume from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 26 at the club, 5480 S. Kenwood Ave., for the 49th time.
“We love giving everyone the chance to stick their head in our door and see what we have been doing,” Executive Director Sarah Diwan said. “There have been a number of exciting developments, our programs are thriving and there are so many kids from Hyde Park and the surrounding communities who make this their home away from home.”
As in years past, local aldermen from the 3rd and 4th wards and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, among other local politicians, are expected to be among those attending the breakfast.
The kids at the neighborhood club will also officially open their monarch butterfly habitat the same day in a garden outside the club where they’ve grown milkweed and other plants adored by the butterflies.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door for adults. Children are $5.
