JEFFERSON PARK — Things got a little rough Tuesday for three election judges at polling places.
Officials removed three judges — in wards 38, 9 and 33 — after they became belligerent, said Jim Allen, a spokesman for the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
In a Jefferson Park polling place in the 38th Ward, a man lost his job as a judge when he arrived late and, when questioned about his tardiness, used an obscenity in front of other judges and voters before abandoning his duties, Allen said.

In the third precinct of the South Side's 9th Ward, a woman was dismissed for disruptive behavior after becoming "belligerent" when she was asked to turn down the music she was listening to at an "extremely loud volume."
Another woman, who started the day as a judge in the 14th precinct of the North Side 33rd Ward, did not last long.
The woman arrived late and threw an envelope with a key in it at another judge in an adjacent precinct when questioned about her tardiness. The woman said she could not "do this" and abandoned her position, leaving the precinct without a judge, officials said.
No one was prevented from voting, and all of the polls opened on time, officials said.
