CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in the torso in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood Saturday, according to police.
Around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, a 42-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the torso in the 7800 block of South Seeley Avenue.
According to police, the man was standing outside on the sidewalk with other adults when an unknown man walked toward the group and opened fire, firing multiple shots into the group. The shooter fled the scene on foot, police said.
The man was taken to Christ Advocate Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No one is currently in custody and Area South Detectives are investigating.
