
CHICAGO — A 36-year-old man was fatally shot in Greater Grand Crossing Thursday night, police said.
Around 8:30 p.m., the man was standing on the street in the 100 block of East 69st Street when a man walked up and opened fire, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man was shot in his back and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Sullivan said.
According to police, the man is a documented gang member.
No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
