LINCOLN SQUARE — Chicago Craft Beer Week doesn't kick off until the middle of May and we already can't wait for it to end.
By "end," we mean the event's official closing shindig, the Welles Park Craft Beer Fest, a day-long bacchanal of beer, entertainment and food, scheduled for May 23.
More than 80 local breweries are expected to participate in the fest, 2333 W. Sunnyside Ave., along with more than a dozen food vendors from the surrounding 47th Ward.
In 2014, the closing fest, which changes location annually, was held in the West Loop. Tickets for the 2015 event are expected to go on sale soon. Cost of general admission was $65 last year, and free to non-beer drinkers and designated drivers.
Chicago Craft Beer Week runs May 14-24 and is organized by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.
