Assault Rifles, $1.5 Million in Drugs, $100K Found in Lawndale Home: Police

CHICAGO — A 24-year-old woman was arrested after $1.5 million worth of drugs, nearly $100,000 in cash and a huge stash of weapons were found during a police raid of her North Lawndale home Thursday, police said.

Lauren Henry, of the 2200 block of South Kildare Avenue, was charged with five felonies and two misdemeanors after the police raid.

Police went to the home after officers found 614 grams of weed inside a package addressed to the home. Police then conducted a controlled delivery of the package to Henry's home, police said.

Officers searched the home around 4:45 p.m. Thursday and found two assault rifles with 100-round ammo clips, three assault rifles with 30-round ammo clips, a loaded 10mm pistol, a loaded 9mm pistol, a revolver, a large amount of ammunition, two bulletproof vests and a high-power bolt-action rifle with a scope, police said.

Police said they also discovered about $1.5 million worth of drugs including more than 11 pounds of cocaine, more than a pound of crack, nearly 15 pounds of tan heroin, more than two pounds of black tar heroin and about 1½ pounds of marijuana. Officers also found $95,608 in cash in the home, police said.

Henry was charged with:

• A felony count of possession of less than 2,000 grams of marijuana

• A felony count of possession of 30-500 grams of marijuana

• Three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance

• Two misdemeanors for possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card
