CHICAGO — Beer fans, polish up those dodgeball skills for the Lager Beer Riot in Bridgeport.

To commemorate the 160th anniversary of the Lager Beer Riot, Pocket Guide to Hell and Marz Community Brewing Company are hosting a dodgeball reenactment of Chicago's first act of civil disturbance on April 25.

The reenactment of Lager Beer Riot, which took place on the Clark Street Bridge in April of 1855, will be held at Benton's House Gymnasium, 3052 S. Gratten Ave.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., attendees can enjoy beer tasting from participating breweries including Revolution Brewing, Goose Island Brewing, Spiteful Brewing Company and Haymarket Pub & Brewing.

Ten games of dodgeball will be played from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. following National Amateur Dodgeball association rules. Brass Inferno Productions will provide halftime entertainment midway through the dodgeball games.

Tickets range from $30 to $50. A $50 ticket gives folks admission to the event, 10 beer tickets, the special issue of Mash Tun, a limited-edition poster, and the chance to play in one of the 10 dodgeball matches.

Proceeds benefit Benton House, a non-profit social service organization in Bridgeport.
