GLADSTONE PARK — Six students from St. Tarcisscus School will head to the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation state tournament this weekend, the most in the Gladstone Park school's history.

St. Tarcisscus, which is the only Catholic grammar school in Chicago with a wrestling team, has never sent so many students to the state tournament, which will conclude Saturday, school officials said.

The students competing in the tournament are eighth-grade students Aidan McKeag and Peter Steinberg; seventh-grade student Delano Walker; sixth-grade student Sean Swinkle; and fifth-grade students Alex Goworowski and Sean Conway, school officials said.

The St. Tarcisscus wrestling team, which was founded in the early 1970s, has 43 members, school officials said.

The team is led by head coach Jim McKeag and assistant coaches Sam Kamberis, Tom Walker, John Cunningham, Chad Crump, Bryan Ruppercht, John Daquilante and Matt Daquilante, school officials said.
