ADLER PLANETARIUM — Just like Pi, the fun will never end Saturday at Adler Planetarium.

The lakefront museum is partnering with WBEZ to offer a day and evening full of punny activities related to everyone's favorite mathematical constant. This year, Pi Day falls on the same date as Pi's abbreviated value of 3.1415.

"Science has never been so delicious," Adler Planetarium said in a news release.

"The Ultimate Pi Day" will begin at noon at the planetarium, 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive, and will be free to all visitors who pay regular admission. Guests can participate in a pie-eating contest, "pie in the sky" solar observing, and share secrets in a "Nerd Confessional Booth" staffed by the hosts of WBEZ's Nerdette podcast, among other activities.

Chicago restaurants including Bang Bang Pie Shop, Hoosier Mama Pies, and Piece Pizza will also offer free samples while supplies last.

From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., guests of drinking age can make use of several cash bars, groove to Vocalo's DJ Collective, and listen to a Nerdette panel at the planetarium. Tickets to the after-hours event cost $25, including museum access and sky shows.

Visit the Adler's Pi Day Web page for more information.
