CHICAGO — Police warned Austin residents that an armed man has literally stolen the pants and jackets off of victims in recent robberies.

In a community alert issued Tuesday, police said the man pointed a revolver at victims and demanded their property, including personal items, jackets and even pants — then made them lie on the ground before fleeing.

The robberies occurred 7:25 p.m. Friday in the 4800 block of West Ohio Street and 4 p.m. March 3 in the 800 block of North Lawler Avenue, officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 312-744-8263.
